The ‘Understanding Finance for Business’ (UF4B) team at St John’s Innovation Centre has helped companies in the East of England raise over £15m in grants, equity and bank finance.
The team of successful entrepreneurs, investors, former bankers, grant experts and sector specialists helped businesses raise sums ranging from £10,000 to £4m. UF4B involved a combination of workshops and one-t0-one mentoring. All the advice and support was totally FREE OF CHARGE due to funding from EEDA and the workshops helped to:
- understand the advantages/disadvantages of different types of finance e.g. grant, bank loan, angel or venture capital funding
- see things from an investor’s perspective
- improve their chances of securing funding
- access potential funders
